Gold prices hit all-time highs, silver also shines

Chandigarh:- Gold prices in the national capital on Monday rose by ?2,200 to touch a new high of ?1,16,200 per 10 grams. These prices were boosted by strong global cues.

According to the All India Sarafa Association, the precious metal of 99.9% purity closed at ?1,14,000 per 10 grams on Friday. In the local bullion market, gold of 99.5% purity rose by ?2,150 to reach a record high of ?1,15,650 per 10 grams (including all taxes). It had closed at ?1,13,500 per 10 grams in the previous trading session.
"Both gold and silver traded at record levels in the domestic markets, given the bullish trend in international markets," said Soumil Gandhi, senior analyst at HDFC Securities.
The precious metal prices have increased by ?37,250 per 10 grams or 47.18% this calendar year, up from ?78,950 per 10 grams on December 31, 2024.
Meanwhile, silver prices rose by ?4,380 on Monday to an all-time high of ?1,36,380 per kg (inclusive of all taxes). The white metal had closed at ?1,32,000 per kg on Friday, according to the association. Silver prices have increased by ?46,680 per kg or 52.04% so far this year, up from ?89,700 per kg on December 31, 2024.
