Hoshiarpur:- Deputy Commissioner-cum-President-District Red Cross Society Ashika Jain said that Ludhiana Beverage Private Limited (Coca-Cola) has made a significant contribution by donating Rs 2 lakh and 2000 water bottles for the flood victims. Similarly, under the leadership of Additional Excise Commissioner Hanuwant Singh, the employees of her department have contributed Rs 92,000 from their salaries to the Red Cross Society, Hoshiarpur to help the flood victims.
The Deputy Commissioner thanked the company and the Excise Department for this noble cause and said that this help will be very helpful in providing essential items to the flood-affected families. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that at the time of a disaster like flood, every section of the society should come forward to help the needy.
He appealed to companies, factories, industrialists, school/college administrators, business community and common citizens to contribute financially or in the form of relief materials as per their capacity. The Deputy Commissioner said that many donors, institutions and common people are actively cooperating on his appeal. This includes relief materials, ration kits, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, cleaning kits, bread, jam and other essential items and financial assistance.
Ashika Jain appealed to all citizens to come forward and participate in this noble cause.
