Sardar Manpreet Singh Ayali, Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal, Iqbal Singh Jhundan, Justice Nirmal Singh, Jathedar Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Sardar Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Jathedar Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Sardar Charanjit Singh Brar, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Landran, Sardar Ajaypal Singh Brar and Gurjit Singh Talwandi were present in this meeting.
On this occasion, party president Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh took information from the senior leadership about the relief camps being run by the party based on the reports of visits made to the flood-affected areas.
On this occasion, Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh discussed with the entire leadership and said that if the water level decreases in the next few days, there will be a greater need for medical facilities and medical kits amid the fear of spreading diseases, along with the need for diesel for farmers, educational materials for school children, etc.
All the leaders were tasked with making lists as per the demand according to the area so that the party can provide the goods as per the demand of the flood affected people. Along with this, the report of permanent relief camps issued by the party was discussed. On this occasion, the party president will visit the flood affected areas of Harike, Ajnala and Gurdaspur on September 10 to send other necessary relief materials to these relief camps.
Along with this, Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh gave a sharp reaction to the decisions taken by the Punjab Cabinet today and said that the Punjab government has completely run away from holding the hands of the victims today. The Punjab government has not announced a single rupee as compensation on its own. The family whose member has passed away should be given at least 20 lakhs compensation and not just 4 lakhs. The government has tried to include only the compensation given under NDRF in its quota.
He also reacted sharply to the compensation for crops announced by the Punjab government and said that the crops were almost ripe and the farmer had made all the expenses, so the farmer should get the full price of the crop. Along with this, he raised the question that why has the time been given till December for removing sand from the fields? Farmers should be given exemption without any time limit and conditions to remove sand from their fields.
