Hoshiarpur- As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia visited various schools in villages adjoining Hoshiarpur city yesterday and inspected the mid-day meal being prepared for the students and made the students aware about the need to take special care of cleanliness while preparing food.
He made the staff preparing mid-day meal aware that special care should be taken of the cleanliness of the place where food is prepared. Clean and separate dusters should be used for cleaning surfaces and wiping utensils.
Separate and covered dustbins should be used for food waste. All food and beverages should be kept covered. He said that hands must be washed before and after handling food, after using the toilet and after coughing, sneezing etc.
He also emphasized on paying special attention to the cleanliness of hands. He instructed that FSSAI rules should be followed in preparing mid-day meals. Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that for the healthy life of the students, it is important that they take special care of themselves and their surrounding environment.
