
One-Time Settlement Scheme for Property Tax Extended Till August 15
SAS Nagar, August 2: In a bid to provide another opportunity for residents to clear their outstanding property tax dues without penalty and interest, the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has extended the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme till August 15, 2025.

Sharing the details, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal informed that the OTS scheme, which was earlier effective from July 1 to 31, 2025, received an overwhelming response from the residents across the district. As a result, the Municipal Councils of SAS Nagar district have collectively collected Rs 21.85 crore in pending property tax dues till August 01, 2025.
Breaking down the figures, she said that Zirakpur Municipal Council led the collections by depositing Rs 13.59 crore, followed by Kharar with Rs 3.75 crore, and Derabassi securing the third position with Rs 2.26 crore.
Among the remaining Municipal Councils, Lalru collected Rs 82.98 lakh,
Kurali Rs 55.2 lakh, Naya Gaon 52.95 lakh,
Banur 34.05 lakh and Gharuan collected Rs 41,000.
Appealing to the residents who have yet to take advantage of the OTS scheme, the Deputy Commissioner urged them to promptly visit their respective Municipal Council offices and clear their outstanding property tax dues within the extended timeframe.
