Addressing the meeting, Mr. Mehar Singh Theri said that the Kisan Union Sidhupur is organizing a big gathering in village Jodhe (Ludhiana district) on August 7 to oppose the new land pooling scheme of the Punjab government and to join it, a large convoy of farmers from Mohali district will go by buses and cars so that their voice can be conveyed to the government.
In the meeting, the duties of all the office bearers and workers were assigned to convince the people and farmers against the land pooling scheme in the villages and take them to this rally.
During the meeting, it was said that the Punjab government is in a very bad condition of the link roads of the villages and there are potholes in the roads, due to which some accident happens every day. The speakers said that many precious lives were lost during these accidents, the loss of which can never be compensated. During the meeting, it was demanded from the government to immediately repair all the roads of the district.
The speakers said that the Punjab government has not yet made any arrangements for DAP in the societies and urea has not been received by many farmers on time, while the potato crop has already been sown. On this occasion, it was demanded that the government should immediately arrange for DAP, otherwise the farmers' union will start a struggle.
The meeting demanded that the Punjab government stop installing chip meters in the villages and take some concrete steps for the care of stray animals so that the displacement of farmers and accidents of people can be avoided.
