Amritsar Police arrests three members of international smuggling gang

Amritsar, April 10 – Amritsar Rural Police has arrested three persons and recovered a cache of arms and Rs 3.3 million in cash from them. The arrested persons have been identified as Ranjeet Singh alias Rana, Gurdev Singh alias Gedi and Shailendra Singh alias Selu.

Punjab DGP Shri Gaurav Yadav tweeted that the arrested persons are involved in cross-border drug smuggling and illegal currency transactions.
500 grams of heroin, 1 Glock 9 mm pistol (with 2 magazines), and Rs 3.3 million in cash have been recovered from the arrested accused. The DGP said an FIR has been registered at Lopoke Police Station, Amritsar and efforts are being made to trace the links behind and beyond the cross-border smuggling network.
