Amarnath Yatra suspended on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes.

Jammu- Due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir, Amarnath Yatra has been suspended on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes on Wednesday. The Information and Public Relations Department of Jammu and Kashmir posted on its X handle, “Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has been suspended from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps for 30.07.2025.” The post said that Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said that due to heavy rains since Wednesday morning, the yatra has not been allowed from Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwadi base camps.

Meanwhile, the Amarnath Yatra will remain suspended on Thursday also due to bad weather. "As a precautionary measure, the caravan scheduled to leave Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu on July 31 for the Amarnath Yatra will not proceed," said Divisional Commissioner of Jammu Ramesh Kumar.
He said that the movement of pilgrims from the base camps in Kashmir has been affected due to heavy rains in the Yatra area. Therefore, it has been decided that no convoy will be allowed to move from Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu to the base camps Baltal and Nunwan on July 31. Kumar said that the pilgrims will be informed about the situation in due course.
He said that so far, more than 3.93 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine during the Amarnath Yatra. The Amarnath Yatra continued from Jammu amid heavy rains as another batch of over 1,300 pilgrims left from here on Wednesday for the twin base camps of Amarnath in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
