Now farmers can get maize and paddy crops insured till 31st July.

Una, 23rd July- Farmers are getting the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana launched to compensate for the loss of crops due to natural calamities like drought, flood, waterlogging and hailstorm etc. during the Kharif season this year as well.

Una, 23rd July- Farmers are getting the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana launched to compensate for the loss of crops due to natural calamities like drought, flood, waterlogging and hailstorm etc. during the Kharif season this year as well.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Una Dr Kulbhushan Dhiman said that maize and paddy crops are being insured under this scheme in Una district. Keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, the last date for getting insurance has been extended to 31st July. Earlier, 15th July was fixed as the date for this.
He said that all farmers including sharecroppers, tenants growing maize and paddy crops can get this insurance done in all the notified tehsils and sub-tehsils of the district. The notification related to the scheme is also available on the department's website agriculture.hp.gov.in.
Along with this, to get insurance, farmers can get their crops insured through insurance company or nearest Lok Mitra Kendras, banks or online by providing their photo, identity card, Aadhar card and land documents.

Premium and insured amount-
Dr Dhiman said that the premium amount payable by the farmers is Rs 48 per canal and the insured amount is Rs 2400 per canal.
