Hoshiarpur- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today visited Anaj Mandi Hoshiarpur and reviewed the arrangements there. Market Committee Chairman Jaspal Singh Chechi was also present with her on this occasion. During this, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the cleanliness, agricultural waste management and basic facilities like roads and sewerage in the Mandi.

During this, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the cleanliness, agricultural waste management and basic facilities like roads and sewerage in the Mandi.
The Deputy Commissioner said that before the start of the paddy season, the cleanliness system in the Mandi will be strengthened so that farmers and traders do not face any kind of problem. He said that the agricultural waste generated in the Mandi will be managed under a special project in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation.
Through this project, not only will the cleanliness system be improved, but concrete steps will also be taken towards developing the Mandi as an Adarsh Mandi. He further said that the internal roads of the Mandi will be repaired and the sewerage system will also be improved so that the problem of waterlogging during the rainy season can be solved. Other basic problems in the Mandi will be identified and resolved in a phased manner.
Market Committee Chairman Jaspal Singh Chechi said that visiting the Mandi with the Deputy Commissioner is an important step for the betterment of the Mandi. We will make the Mandi clean, convenient and farmer friendly with full commitment. Along with the cleaning system, the work of repairing the broken internal roads of the Mandi will also be started soon and the work of improving the cleaning and sewerage system will also be done on priority basis.
He said that basic facilities like drinking water, light, shed and seating will also be improved so that farmers can get convenience. The Chairman assured that with this joint effort of the administration and the Market Committee, work will be done rapidly towards including the grain market in the ideal mandis of the state.
