Hoshiarpur- Addressing journalists at a press conference, senior BJP leader and former MP Avinash Rai Khanna said that after deceiving every section, the Mann government of Punjab has now started deceiving the farmers.
With this new land pooling policy, it is making landowners landless. A conspiracy is being hatched to benefit the capitalists by deceiving the farmers of Punjab.
Khanna said that before coming to power, AAP leaders used to go from street to street and make a lot of noise that the opinion of the common people would be taken before bringing any new law or policy. But the Mann government, which calls itself farmer friendly, did not consult any farmer while making the new land pooling policy. Now this policy is being imposed on them.
He said that under the new policy, not giving any commercial space to farmers having land up to three kanals, breaking the old system of giving residential plots of one thousand yards and five hundred yards to farmers having one acre of land and not giving commercial space to farmers in industrial and institutional areas is injustice to them.
Khanna said that the new policy has been made only to benefit corporate and big real estate companies. The interests of the farmers have not been taken care of. Which is a sheer betrayal of the farmers of Punjab. The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly opposes this. In this matter, the BJP will stand with the farmers and oppose the Punjab government.
