Guwahati, July 7- BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday accused the Congress party of being responsible for the rise of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and also of taking help from the British Army during Operation Blue Star in 1984. He also alleged that the Congress has done many injustices to the Sikh community. He made this claim in a post on social media platform X.
Speaking to ANI, Dubey said, “The British Foreign Office wrote a letter to the Home Ministry in 1984. Operation Blue Star took place in June 1984, this letter is dated February 1984. It clearly states that India had sought technical and material help (for Operation Blue Star) and our (British) people had gone there.
The Congress was planning to attack the Golden Temple for six months.” He further claimed, “During an investigation, it was found that the Indian Army carried out this action under the guidance of the British Army. You (Congress) gave birth to Bhindranwale and then attacked the biggest religious place of the Sikhs with the help of the British Army.”
Dubey said that the Congress is responsible for three major injustices against the Sikhs.
He accused the Congress of using ‘Sikhs as puppets’. In support of his claims, Dubey has also shared a letter on Facebook sent by Hugh Taylor, the then private secretary to the UK Home Secretary, to Brian Fall, the then private secretary at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
