Nawanshahr 27 February- On the occasion of World NGO Day, a delegation of social workers of the district met Mr. Ankurjit Singh in his office today. The delegation welcomed him by presenting a bouquet of flowers and extended their heartfelt best wishes. On this occasion, President of “Road Safety Awareness Society” G.S. Toor, Vice President Harprabhmahal Singh, Secretary J.S. Gidda and Advisor Bikramjit Singh and Jasvir Singh P.A. were present.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner received brief information from the delegation about the road safety awareness work being done by the social workers of the district in Training Park and Barnala Kalan Model and the blood donation services being provided daily by BDC Blood Center. He also informed them about the awareness towards Beti Bachao.
The Deputy Commissioner said that awareness is very important for the prevention of social evils. He inspired the youth about the need to create awareness to save them from the evils of drug addiction. He said that a detailed meeting will be held with the representatives of social service organizations.
