Una 18 October - In order to keep law and order in Una city on Diwali, SDM Una Vishwamohan Dev Chauhan held a meeting with the officers of various departments on Friday. He directed the officers of MC Una, Santoshgarh and Mehtpur-Basdehra to ensure that shopkeepers do not encroach in front of their shops in their jurisdiction. If any trader is found encroaching, strict legal action should be taken against him.
While giving instructions to the police department, he said that it should be ensured that unauthorized vehicles are not parked from Red Light Chowk, Old Bus Adda towards Hamirpur Road, so that the general public does not have to face any inconvenience in traffic.

Firecrackers will be sold only at identified places
The SDM said that places have been identified for the sale of firecrackers in MC Una, Mehtpur-Basdehra and Santoshgarh. For the sale of firecrackers, Ramlila Ground Una has been identified under Municipal Council Una, ground in front of MC office Mehatpur under Municipal Council Mehatpur-Basdehra and Ramlila Maidan Santoshgarh under Municipal Council Santoshgarh.

SDM issued instructions regarding green firecrackers
SDM has issued instructions regarding the safety of green firecrackers. He said that green firecrackers should be kept in sheds made of non-flammable material, and the sheds should be at least three meters away from each other. The sheds should be constructed in such a way that they are not facing each other. To ensure safety, oil and gas lamps will not be used within the sheds. Switches in every shop should be adjacent to the wall, and a master switch will be required for each row.
Adequate amount of water, fire extinguishers, and buckets filled with sand should be available in the shops to deal with any situation of fire.
The SDM clarified that it is mandatory to obtain a license from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of the concerned jurisdiction to set up a fire crackers stall. Stocking and sale of green crackers will not be allowed without license.
On this occasion, BDO KL Verma, Naib Tehsildar Mehtpur-Basdehda Iqbal Singh, President of Vyapar Mandal Abhinash Kapila, Pradhan Prince Rajput, Executive Officer MC Una Lalit Kumar, Executive Officer Mehtpur Varsha Chaudhary, Additional SHO Sanjay Kumar and other officers and employees were present.
