Dengue is the name of a disease caused by a virus which is caused by the bite of a mosquito called Aedes.
When this mosquito bites, the virus rapidly shows its effect on the patient's body. Due to which symptoms like high fever and headache start appearing. It is also called bone breaking fever or break bone fever. When dengue occurs, the number of platelets in the patient's blood decreases rapidly, due to which sometimes there is a risk to life. Dengue does not spread from one person to another. It occurs only due to mosquito bites. This disease grows rapidly during the summer and rainy season. Dengue mosquitoes always bite during the day.
Chief Medical Officer Una Dr. Sanjeev Verma says that if a person has severe cold and fever, back, muscle, joint and head pain, mild cough, throat pain and soreness, red rashes on the body, tiredness, loss of appetite and weakness, vomiting and diarrhea, then these can be the symptoms of dengue.
On any such symptoms, the patient should get himself examined at the nearest health center. If any person shows any of the above symptoms, then immediately go to the doctor. NS1 or ELISA test is done to check dengue, on the basis of which the doctor decides whether the patient has dengue or not.
How to prevent dengue
Dengue is the name of a disease caused by mosquitoes. Everyone has to protect themselves from mosquitoes. The home of dengue is clean water collected at one place. Therefore, do not let water collect for more than two or three days in the house and around you. Spray kerosene in coolers and keep changing the water collected in pots and buckets.
In case of fever, definitely go to the health center and get yourself examined. Dress children in full-sleeved clothes. Keep the windows of the house closed in this season and do not let garbage accumulate in the dustbin. Keep cleaning the water tanks, coolers, pots in the house from time to time.
What does the District Magistrate say
District Magistrate Jatin Lal said that in Una district, emphasis is being laid on educating and making people aware about the prevention of dengue and other bacterial and viral diseases. It is necessary to be very cautious about the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue.
Do not let water accumulate in and around the house, take special care of cleanliness and if symptoms like fever are seen, get yourself examined immediately at the health center. The efforts of the administration will be successful only when the public cooperation is received completely.
