DGCA orders enhanced inspection of Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.

New Delhi, June 13 - A day after the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash that killed 241 people, aviation watchdog DGCA on Friday ordered enhanced safety inspection of Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The Tata Group-owned carrier's fleet includes 26 Boeing 787-8s and 7 Boeing 787-9s.

New Delhi, June 13 - A day after the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash that killed 241 people, aviation watchdog DGCA on Friday ordered enhanced safety inspection of Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The Tata Group-owned carrier's fleet includes 26 Boeing 787-8s and 7 Boeing 787-9s.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has directed Air India to immediately implement enhanced maintenance measures for its Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft, which are equipped with Genx engines.
These measures will be taken in coordination with the concerned DGCA regional offices. Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, flying from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff on Thursday afternoon. Of the 242 people on board, only one passenger survived.
