Zirakpur, June 11: Municipal Council Zirakpur demolished the unauthorised construction of the contract shop which had started again on government land this morning. Also, the Municipal Council has warned of strict action if such mistake is repeated in future.
Executive Officer Jagjit Singh Judge said that on May 29, during the visit of Local Bodies Department Punjab Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa and other high officials to Zirakpur city, the general public brought to the notice of the Minister about the unauthorised construction of the contract shop which had started again on government land, on which the Municipal Council took action and demolished/removed this unauthorised construction on the spot.
However, on receiving information about the resumption of unauthorised construction of the contract shop on government land the next day, the Municipal Council team took immediate action and demolished this unauthorised construction again today. The Executive Officer has appealed to the residents of the area not to do any unauthorized construction in future.
He said that it should be ensured that construction is done only after getting the map approved from the Municipal Council as per the rules laid down by the local government and in case of violation of the rules, appropriate action will be taken against the concerned person/unauthorized builder.
