Hoshiarpur- A special meeting of Bahujan Samaj Party was held in Garhshankar, in which a protest march from Khuralgarh Sahib to Garhshankar was announced on June 18. BSP Punjab President Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri announced that with the support of all the saints of Punjab, Bahujan Samaj Party will hold a huge protest in Garhshankar against the insult of Dr. Ambedkar's statues.
Dr. Karimpuri said that the failure of the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab to stop the continuous insult of the statues of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar ji, the architect of the Indian Constitution, Bharat Ratna, the messiah of crores of people and the inability to arrange government security for the statues shows hatred towards Dr. Ambedkar.
Strongly condemning the incident that took place in village Noorpur Jattan of Garhshankar Assembly constituency, he held the Punjab government completely responsible for it. Dr. Karimpuri said that after the absurd and irresponsible comments made by Home Minister of India Amit Shah against Dr. Ambedkar in Parliament, such a ground was prepared that the first incident took place in Amritsar, from which the government did not learn any lesson.
The Bahujan Samaj Party has been demanding from the government that wherever there are statues of Dr. Ambedkar, the government should ensure their security. In response to a question, Karimpuri said that if thousands of soldiers can be deployed for the security of the Chief Minister of Punjab and his family, then why are the statues of the Constitution maker who changed the fate of crores of people insecure?
Karimpuri said that BJP, Congress, Akali and AAP parties are equally responsible for the statues of Dr. Ambedkar because Congress holds rallies to save the Constitution but the Punjab President of Congress is sitting silent against the insult of the Constitution maker, similarly the Punjab President of BJP is silent, the Punjab President of Akali Dal is silent, the President and Chief Minister of Punjab are also involved in this sin.
Karimpuri warned the government and administration in strong words that if the culprits are not caught within a week and action is not taken against them according to the law, then the Bahujan Samaj Party will protest against the attitude of the government in Garhshankar.
The Punjab government should immediately take a decision to deploy forces to protect the statues of the great men of Bahujan Samaj in Punjab. Despite the residence of the Deputy Speaker of Punjab being in Garhshankar Assembly, not providing security to the statues shows the lack of seriousness of the government.
Karimpuri appealed to the Punjabis that these four parties are responsible for ruining Punjab, let us be a part of the Bahujan Samaj Party's Punjab Sambhal Abhiyan and defeat the forces that are destroying the peace and brotherhood of Punjab and build Begumpura shown by the Gurus. On this occasion, BSP Punjab General Secretary Thekedar Bhagwan Das Sidhu and the leadership of Assembly constituency Garhshankar, Chabbewal and a large number of workers and supporters were present.
