Nawanshahr - According to the instructions of Honorable Commissioner Food and Drugs Administration and the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, an awareness cum Sacitization camp was organized at Civil Surgeon Office, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Owners of sweet shops, restaurants and hotels and their representatives from different parts of the district participated in this awareness camp.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur while issuing instructions to the food vendors said that special attention should be paid to the quality of food items for the health protection of the people. He said that the main objective of this camp is to spread awareness about the Food Safety Act so that clean and unadulterated food and food items can be provided to the common people. Proper disposal of oil used for cooking food in the camp was also explained.
On this occasion, Food Safety Officers Mrs. Sangeeta Sahdev and Bikramjit Singh gave detailed information about the Food Safety Act and its sections. Shopkeepers were encouraged to use crude oil properly, store finished goods properly and take special care of cleanliness.
