
PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra organised Farmer-Scientist Meet at Village Chagran
Hoshiarpur- PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, operating under Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana and Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Attari, Zone-1, recently organised a Farmer-Scientist Meet at village Chagran. At the beginning of the conference, Dr. Maninder Singh Bounce, Co-Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra welcomed the farmers present and shared information about the activities being undertaken by the centre for farmer welfare.

He also stressed on adopting agriculture related businesses like animal husbandry, poultry farming, goat farming, beekeeping, mushroom production to earn more profit from agriculture. He motivated the farmers to take full advantage of the vocational training courses being run by Krishi Vigyan Kendra in this regard. He informed that agricultural knowledge and latest technical information is being made available through various social media platforms being run by Punjab Agricultural University - PAU website, PAU Kisan App, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Kheti Sandesh etc.
On the occasion scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Associate Professor (Crop Science) Gurpartap Singh and Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) Dr. Prabhjot Kaur shared technical information about comprehensive fertilizer, weed and pest management of Rabi crops especially manganese supplements in light soils, prevention of Gulli Danda weed and yellow moss of wheat.
Former Sarpanch of village Chagran Subinder Singh and other progressive farmers Surjit Singh, Rajwinder Kumar, Daan Singh, Dhanveer Singh, Manmohan Singh, Sarban Singh Bittu, Tarsem Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Santokh Singh were also present in the meeting and discussed their concerns and agricultural problems with the experts.
