S.A.S. Nagar, May 22- Mohali Police has solved the Sector 78 blind murder case and arrested an accused. During a press conference today, SSP City Mohali Sirivenla, SP Investigation Sarv Jindal and SP City 2 Mr. Harsimran Singh Bal informed that Mohali Police has traced the blind murder that took place in Sector 78, Mohali in Sohana Police Station area on the night of May 11 and arrested an accused.
They informed that on May 14, the body of Sureshpal was found abandoned in the bushes at a deserted place near Sector 78-79, Mohali. In this regard, a case was registered on May 14 based on the statements of Nirmal Kumar, a resident of Mauli Baidwan village. According to the complainant, his brother Sureshpal (age 36 years), who was with him in wholesale and grocery supply business, left from Mauli Baidwan on May 11 at 4:30 pm and did not return. His family members searched for him and on not getting any information, reported his missing person at Sohana police station. After finding the dead body, a case was registered against unknown persons.
He said that to trace the murder case, CIA staff and Sohana police station led by senior officers traced the blind murder case and named an accused and arrested him while he was fleeing from in front of Gurdwara Shahida Sahib, Sohana. This person also sustained injuries and is under treatment.
He said that during interrogation, accused Mukesh Kumar revealed that he belongs to Bihar and works at a tyre shop in Sohana and stays there at night. He is also a drug addict. During interrogation, he admitted that on the night of May 11, he saw deceased Sureshpal lying in a drunken state in a deserted place in Trikonas Park along the service road in Sector-78/79, Mohali and on seeing the deceased in a drunken state, he tried to rob him. Then deceased Sureshpal had a lot of scuffle with accused Mukesh Kumar, but Mukesh Kumar beat him up in Trikonas Park and dragged him to a nearby deserted place and there he killed Sureshpal by hitting him on the head with a stone and to destroy his body, he removed his clothes, pants and underwear and threw them away and fled after dragging him by his shirt and throwing him further in a deserted place. Two cases are already registered against the accused in Sohana police station.
