
District Language Office invited entries for quiz competitions.

Garhshankar 21 May: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann and Higher Education and Language Department Minister Harjot Singh Bains and under the guidelines of Director Language Department Punjab Jaswant Singh Zafar, the Language Department, Punjab, Patiala organizes district and state level children's literature quiz competitions every year under Bal Gyan Sahitya.
The purpose of these competitions is to encourage the spirit of competition among the students. Under this series, competitions for the year 2025 are to be organized. The subject of these children's literature quiz competitions is related to Punjabi literature, religion, language, culture, history and geography.
Research Officer of District Language Office, Dr. Jaswant Rai said that these competitions are to be conducted in three categories, in which the first category is A-category for students from sixth to eighth class, the second category is A-category for students from ninth to twelfth class and the third category is C-category for students up to graduation. The class and date of birth of the participating student should be verified in writing by the head of the institution. A maximum of two students can be sent from one institution in each category.
The students coming first in each category at the district level will participate in the state level competition. The student securing first place in the district level competition of each category will be given Rs 1000, the student coming second will be given Rs 750 and the student coming third will be given Rs 500 in cash or in the form of a set of departmental books. Giving further information, he also said that in this regard, participation of students of all (government/private/aided) schools and colleges of Hoshiarpur district should be ensured.
In this regard, schools and colleges should ensure that the entries of their participating students are sent to the District Language Office, Hoshiarpur, Room No. 307-308, 3rd Floor, District Administrative Complex, Hoshiarpur personally or on the department's email dlo.language.hsp@gmail.com by May 30, 2025.
