Kapurthala (Paigam-E-Jagat)- Like every year, this year also a grand Kavi Darbar is being organized on the main stage of the temple on Friday, 23rd May from 8 to 10 am. The officials of the fair committee, Mr. Parshottam Pasi President, Radhey Shyam Sharma Chairman, Vinay Anand Public Secretary, Bhupinder Anand Vice President, Vicky Bahl Vice President, Manu Parashar Cashier, Mr. Rahul Anand and all the committee members have handed over the responsibility of conducting the Kavi Darbar to the national poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh ji this year as well, like every year.
It is worth mentioning that earlier this fair was organized in Pakistan, but after the partition of India-Pakistan, now this grand fair is organized every year in village Shekhupur located on the outskirts of Kapurthala city of India! In this fair, famous poets of India like Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Kartar Singh Balgan, Principal Chaman Gobindpuri, Rashpal Singh Pal known as Rafi of Punjab, Dr. Hari Singh Jachak, Engr. Karamjit Singh Noor, Chain Singh Chakravarti, Sujan Singh Sujan, Ashi Ishpuri etc. have been participating in the Kavi Darbars organized from time to time!
International poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh, a resident of Kapurthala city and known as a national poet, has been organizing this fair continuously for the last 19 years!
According to the motto given by the Mela Committee, "Our country is a crowd, the enemy country is a danger" and "We will regain our youth by beating Kashmir", this time 10 famous poets of Punjab including poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh, Lali Kartarpuri, Lucky Malianwala, Surjit Sajan, Roop Dabuji, Rajni Walia, Ashu Kumara, Mukhtar Singh Sahota, Gurdeep Gill, Tejbir Singh etc. will sing praises of His Majesty in His Majesty's court with their poetry! It is also worth mentioning that every year lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad come to this holy court to pay obeisance and fill their bags.
