Chandigarh- There is a lot of anger and sadness among the local people due to the news of demolition of the only ancient temple located in village Attawa of Chandigarh tomorrow. This temple was built before the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh came into existence and has been the center of faith of the villagers for years.
Senior Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty expressed concern in this regard and said, "This is the only temple in village Attawa. If this is also demolished, then where will the people go to visit the mother and worship? This is not just a building, but a religious place associated with the faith and sentiments of the people."
He further said that playing with the religious sentiments of the people is reprehensible. The administration should find an alternative solution to save the temple, not demolish it.
Local residents have also opposed the decision to demolish the temple and have demanded that the temple be preserved.
