For the first time, Ganga Aarti was performed by lighting 251 massive Jyotas on the banks of the holy lake of Shri Kali Devi Temple.

Patiala, October 20: Today, on the sixth day of Navratri, at the historic and ancient temple of Patiala, Sri Kali Devi, clean water was filled in the tank of the temple after many years and here for the first time, 251 huge Jyots were lit on the banks of the tank and 'Ganga Aarti' was performed. Before filling this reservoir, Ganga water was poured by worshiping it.

Meanwhile, Sakshi Sahni, Chairperson-cum-Deputy Commissioner of the Advisory Board of Temple Sri Kali Devi and Sri Raj Rajeshwari Devi, offered her devotion and respect at the feet of Kali Devi, wishing the good of the people.
On the occasion of the holy festival of Navratri, the Sri Kali Devi and Sri Raj Rajeshwari Devi Advisory Board distributed 25 bicycles to schoolgirls, 30 sports kits to sportsmen and 10 sewing machines to needy women under women empowerment. The Deputy Commissioner said that this will boost the courage of these girls, while the girl students will also get an opportunity to advance in the field of studies and sports.
Meanwhile, in a statement, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli praised the efforts of the district administration and the temple management committee to fill the sacred tank of the temple after many years and said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, this religious place is taking great steps for the sanctity of and the convenience of devotees.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni congratulated the auspicious days of Navratri and said that free multi-storied parking and building, shoe store, bathroom have been dedicated to the devotees by MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli for the Sangat coming to the temple and more such efforts will be made. He said that the work of filling the reservoir has been done successfully by the drainage department.
