SAS Nagar, May 13- Former Councillor of Phase 4 Bibi Kuldeep Kaur Kang has demanded that immediate steps be taken to provide relief to the residents of HM Quarters of Phase 4 from the problem of rain water entering their houses during the upcoming monsoon season.
She said that the residents of these quarters have to face the havoc of rain water every year, and due to the water from Phase 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well as Chandigarh, the water enters the houses of the people and causes a lot of damage.
She said that during her tenure, she had got a causeway constructed for the drainage of rain water as per the demand of the ward residents, but the present councillor has failed to get this causeway expanded and renovated, due to which the present councillor has proved incompetent, which has caused a lot of anger among the people. She said that despite belonging to the ruling party, the present councillor has failed to get this work done.
He demanded from the Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Mayor that before the monsoon, the water drainage system as well as the dilapidated condition of parks, footpaths and roads should be repaired and cleanliness of the area should be ensured so that people can get the feeling of urbanization.
