Leh-Manali National Highway opened for traffic

Shimla, May 12- The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) today opened the Leh-Manali National Highway (NH-3) that connects Ladakh to the rest of India via Manali. The BRO had earlier cleared snow from the road.

Shimla, May 12- The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) today opened the Leh-Manali National Highway (NH-3) that connects Ladakh to the rest of India via Manali. The BRO had earlier cleared snow from the road.
The BRO said that the 475-km long route was closed since November 2024 and is crucial for the movement of armed forces and essential supplies to the forward areas in Ladakh. Now the route has been restored.
Earlier, teams cleared snow walls up to 15 feet high at some places on the high passes including Tanglang La (17,480 feet), Lachung La (16,616 feet), Naki La (15,563 feet) and Barchala.
