SAS Nagar, May 12- The HM Housing Welfare Association (Regd.), Phase 4, has submitted a demand letter to Ward No. 5 Councillor Smt. Rupinder Kaur, urging action to address the issue of rainwater entering HM houses.
Regarding this, the association’s Chairman N.S. Kalsi and President Sukhdeep Singh stated that every year during the rainy season, rainwater enters the HM houses in Phase 4. They said that Councillor Rupinder Kaur Reena, during the elections, promised a permanent solution to this problem, secured votes from residents, and won the election. However, even after more than four years, no permanent solution has been found, and the fear of rainwater entering homes during the upcoming rainy season continues to haunt residents. They added that through the demand letter, the councillor has been reminded of the promise made to HM residents, and a request has been made to resolve this issue.
They further stated that a letter was given to the municipal councillor two months before the start of the rainy season to take appropriate action as soon as possible. If rainwater still enters HM houses and causes any damage, the full responsibility will lie personally with the municipal councillor and the municipal corporation. The letter also mentions that the councillor has never made any effort to address the daily problems of HM residents, such as park cleaning, paver or footpath cleaning, or road and street repairs.
The letter states that the HM residents’ welfare association has received no assistance from the councillor. Even when the association or any of its members use their personal influence to resolve the issues of HM residents, no cooperation is provided by the councillor.
A copy of the letter has also been sent to the mayor and commissioner of the municipal corporation. On this occasion, the association’s General Secretary Manmohan Singh, Senior Vice President Ish Kumar, Vice President Amandeep Chhabra, Legal Advisor Dheeraj Kaushal, Cashier Rajeev Goswami, Poonam Latava, and Charanjit Kaur Saini were present.
