SAS Nagar, May 7- An attempt was made to occupy the ancient Sitla Mata temple located in village Sundara of Derabassi tehsil by some armed persons on May 4.
In the absence of the villagers, the priests of the temple, whose family has been serving the temple for about 150 years, have threatened their family and tried to occupy it. The encroachers have also hurt the religious sentiments of the villagers by roaming around the temple premises with weapons and wearing shoes.
In this regard, the villagers have given a written complaint to Mohali ADC Sonam Chaudhary and SSP Deepak Pareek, demanding strictest action against the above-mentioned people.
Pandit Nathu Ram said that he had gone to the temple on the request of the Sarpanch's son, but I did not know that encroachment was being done there.
