‘Pro Gurdial Singh Study and Heritage Centre* (Library) to be inaugurated at Professor Gurdial Singh Chair of Punjabi University Patiala on August 28

Patiala, August 23- Due to the wise guidance of Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala, ‘Pro Gurdial Singh Study and Heritage Centre* (Library)’ is being inaugurated at the Chair established in the name of Padma Shri and Jnanpith Awardee Professor Gurdial Singh at the University on August 28, 2025 at 11.00 am.

Patiala, August 23- Due to the wise guidance of Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala, ‘Pro Gurdial Singh Study and Heritage Centre* (Library)’ is being inaugurated at the Chair established in the name of Padma Shri and Jnanpith Awardee Professor Gurdial Singh at the University on August 28, 2025 at 11.00 am.
While giving this information, Head of Punjabi Department, Coordinator Punjabipedia Centre and State Awardee Dr. Rajwant Kaur ‘Punjabi* said that this event will be presided over by Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Jagdeep Singh. Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Jaswinder Singh Brar will specially share his views on this occasion.
The keynote speaker of this event will be Dr. Tarsem Sharma, Head of Punjabi Department of DAV College Abohar and the special guest will be Ravinder Singh, son of Prof. Gurdial Singh. At the beginning of the event, Dr. Rajwant Kaur ‘Punjabi* will deliver the welcome address and Dean Languages ??Dr. Balwinder Kaur Sidhu will deliver the vote of thanks.
The Chair has invited teachers, researchers and students interested in Punjabi language and literature as well as writers and readers to participate in this event.
