Jalandhar- On the occasion of the 111th (1913-2025) Foundation Day of Ghadar Party, an invaluable revolutionary page in the history of the freedom struggle, a discussion was organized by Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee on the topic of 'New Mandi and Agriculture Policy', in which the widespread ill-effects of the implementation of this policy and the need for a mass struggle against it were highlighted.
On the occasion of this discussion, Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee President Ajmer Singh, General Secretary Prithipal Singh Marimegha, Finance Secretary Seetal Singh Sangha, Cultural Wing Convenor Amolak Singh and speakers invited by the committee Lakhvir Singh Nizampur, Dr. Satnam Singh Ajnala, Joginder Singh Ugrahan and Raminder Singh Patiala were present.
The discussion began with the welcome speech of the General Secretary of the Committee, Prithipal Singh Marimegha. Speaking on the occasion, he said that all the questions that the Ghadar Party had to face in 1913 on its foundation day are now emerging in a much broader and sharper form. These questions demand answers from us.
The discussion was successful in addressing one of those questions, the attack on agriculture and the market, as well as in bringing the attack to the centre stage against the vast array of imperialist and indigenous corporate attacks. Lakhvir Singh Nizampur, Dr. Satnam Singh Ajnala, Joginder Singh Ugrahan and Raminder Singh Patiala shared their views in the discussion.
The speakers showed that the intentions of the new market and agricultural policy, which the Delhi Kisan Morcha has succeeded in repealing after a life-threatening struggle, are far more dangerous. The speakers explained with facts how the imperialist economy, which has come into crisis, is constantly making new excuses to impose its crisis on the people of countries like ours.
The speakers were of the clear and shared opinion that agriculture and the market are the backbone of our economy. This will not only affect farmers but other working classes as well. He said that companies demanding crores of rupees a day are also robbing people of their basic democratic rights to implement their policies without any hindrance. The phenomenon of fascist attacks in the form of state machinery is getting stronger day by day.
