Nawanshahr - They checked Government High School Jasso Majara, Government Primary Smart School Jasso Majara and Anganwadi Center-1, Anganwadi Center 2 and Anganwadi Center 3. Commission member Vijay Dutt directed schools to maintain mid-day meal food taste register, provide clean food to children and maintain cleanliness while preparing and serving food.
The Commission member interacted with the students of the school about mid-day meal and tested it by eating the mid-day meal prepared in the school and the Panjiri distributed in the Anganwadi. TDS of drinking water in schools was also checked by the commission member. Instructions were given by the member that TDS and water quality of drinking water should be checked from time to time in those schools which do not have RO machines.
Commission member Vijay Dutt said that most of the in-charges and helpers of Anganwadi centers are not aware of the latest schemes of the government, which is a matter of concern, so they should be given training from time to time. So that they can show the right direction to the beneficiaries. The member of the commission directed to install helpline number of Punjab State Food Commission in schools.
He said that if any beneficiary has any complaint regarding the schemes of the National Food Security Act, he can register his complaint on the commission's helpline number 9876764545. Apart from this, the commission directed to conduct health check-up of school students every 6 months and also directed to conduct medical check-up of mid-day meal workers.
