
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Colonel Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil attended the Nutrition Fortnight organized in Chintpurni.
Chintpurni, April 16 - Social Justice and Empowerment and Health Minister Colonel Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil today attended the Nutrition Fortnight program organized in Chintpurni during his visit to Chintpurni Assembly constituency. During this, he interacted with Anganwadi workers, assistants and children and reviewed the arrangements of Anganwadi centers.
Chintpurni, April 16 - Social Justice and Empowerment and Health Minister Colonel Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil today attended the Nutrition Fortnight program organized in Chintpurni during his visit to Chintpurni Assembly constituency. During this, he interacted with Anganwadi workers, assistants and children and reviewed the arrangements of Anganwadi centers.
Dr. Shandil said that the state government is paying special attention to the overall nutrition of children, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Programs like Nutrition Fortnight not only spread public awareness, but also play an important role in strengthening the health and nutrition level of the weaker sections of the society. He directed the concerned departmental officers to improve the facilities of Anganwadi centers and organize nutrition awareness programs. The minister said that the state government is determined to eliminate malnutrition and for this various schemes are being implemented effectively.
He said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has increased the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers and assistants in his budget. Now Anganwadi workers will be given an honorarium of Rs 10,500, mini Anganwadi workers Rs 7300 and assistants Rs 5800.
District Program Officer (ICDS) Narendra Kumar said that this year the Nutrition Fortnight focuses on four major topics. Focus on the first 1000 days of life, beneficiaries of Nutrition Tracker, promotion of citizen module, management of malnutrition through Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and promotion of healthy lifestyle to deal with obesity in children. He said that the purpose of this Nutrition Fortnight is to underline the importance of nutrition and promote balanced and healthy diet habits in the society.
On this occasion, Tehsil Welfare Officer Una Jatinder Kumar, CDPO Amb, Anganwadi workers and others were present.
