Zirakpur, April 17: Derabassi MLA Sardar Kuljit Singh Randhawa today dedicated development works worth Rs. 43.30 lakh in five schools of Zirakpur under Punjab Shiksha Kranti.

In his address on the occasion, he said that the promises made to the people by Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government to provide the best education and health facilities across the country have almost been fulfilled. He said that 20,000 government schools in Punjab are being renovated, upgraded, laboratories are being built, playgrounds are being repaired and many other works are being done at a cost of Rs. 2000 crore. Similarly, in the health sector, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics in the state are providing free treatment, free tests and free medicines to the people near their homes.
He said that it often happens that instead of working in their initial years, governments cheat people in their last years, but the government led by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann has done such exemplary work in the state in the first three years of its tenure which is proving to be a clear proof of the government's commitment towards the people. He said that there has been a history of governments in Punjab announcing jobs to unemployed youth in the last years of their tenure, but the present government of Punjab has proved its commitment towards the youth by giving jobs in more than 54,000 government departments so far.
Derabassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa today dedicated a classroom constructed at a cost of Rs 7.51 lakh to the students at Government Primary School Adda Jhungiya in the constituency. A classroom constructed at a cost of Rs 7.51 lakh was dedicated to the students at Government Primary School Narayangarh Jhungiya. Today, he dedicated the renovation of classrooms/labs and development of playground to the students of Government Primary School Daulat Singh Wala and Government Senior Secondary School Daulat Singh Wala of the constituency at a cost of Rs. 12,73,500. Development work of classrooms and boundary walls was dedicated to the students of Government Primary School Dayalpura and Government Senior Secondary School Dayalpura at a cost of Rs. 15.55 lakh.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa today praised the teachers of the schools for not only getting the routine works done with the government grant but also making the look of the schools so beautiful that the government schools of the constituency are beating the private schools. He said that soon a time will come in Punjab when the people of Punjab will prefer to educate their children in government schools instead of private schools. On this occasion, the heads of these schools, teachers, students, their parents and local Panch-Sarpanch and Mohtabar were present.
