Hoshiarpur- After inaugurating the works done at a cost of about Rs 61 lakh in Government Senior Secondary School Falahi today under the 'Shiksha Kranti' started by the Punjab Government, MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal took a unique initiative and announced the adoption of Government Senior Secondary School Falahi.
On the occasion of inauguration of new classrooms, boundary wall and bathrooms built in the school, District Education Officer Lalita Arora, School Principal Mridula Sharma, members of the School Management Committee and dignitaries of the area were present. Also, Lok Sabha MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that from today he has adopted this school, under which he will regularly be in touch with the students and share necessary information according to the goals set for their future.
He said that being a doctor by profession, he will guide the students in choosing this profession. He said that apart from maintaining contact with the students, he will work with the principal, teachers, school management committee and village panchayat to further improve the school and strengthen the infrastructure.
Regarding the mentorship program of the Punjab government, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that apart from senior officers, elected representatives should also be a part of this noble cause and provide necessary information to the students about competitive education, jobs and guide them according to the goals set for their future.
Also, they should contribute to the all-round development of schools. Talking about the infrastructure strengthened in the school at a cost of about Rs 61 lakh, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that he will continue to make continuous efforts to bring Falahi School in the league of model schools. He accepted the demand of some works put forward by the school principal on the spot and said that the Punjab government will also approve commerce classes in the school.
He said that the necessary funds for further development of the school and interlocking floor will be provided soon. He said that the Punjab Government has set new records in the field of education by providing training to teachers abroad, giving every modern facility to the students and providing ultra-modern infrastructure in the schools.
