Mohali- The Muslim community today took out a protest march in Sector 56 against the Waqf Act. During this, the protesters were holding placards with slogans like "Take back the Waqf Bill" in their hands. They also raised strong slogans against the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On this occasion, Sonu Khan, councilor Manawar Ansari, one of the organizers of the protest march, said that in this law, the BJP has proposed to impose arbitrary restrictions on Waqf properties and their management. This will weaken the religious autonomy of the Muslim community. According to Islamic law and tradition, these restrictions are baseless.
This law will not benefit Muslims, rather madrasas will be affected by it because after the law is made, now non-Muslims will solve the cases of Waqf Board properties. He has alleged that the BJP government is sacrificing every community. The Modi government is fooling itself.
What is being done with Muslims today and efforts are being made to suppress Muslim rights, the same can happen with Sikhs and Christians in the future. They were appealed to understand the seriousness of this issue and express their protest by showing solidarity.
