
Shiksha Kranti will emerge as the biggest change in the education sector in the state: MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa.
Zirakpur, (Derabassi) 07 April 2025: Under the Punjab Shiksha Kranti Abhiyan, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and under the supervision of Education Minister Harjot Bains, the government has started dedicating the development works done in various government schools across the state to the students, under which today Derabassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa inaugurated two new separate toilets for boys and girls at Government Primary School Bishangarh in Zirakpur at a cost of Rs 2.31 lakh and a new room and toilet at Government Primary School Bishanpura at a cost of Rs 8 lakh 64 thousand.

Beautiful presentations were also given by school students on the occasion. MLA Randhawa said that in the next one and a half months, most of the schools in the constituency will be transformed. He said that the aim of the Punjab Shiksha Kranti Yojana is to improve the quality of education and infrastructure in government schools, so that they can be made at par with private schools. The development work carried out in government primary schools of Bishnupura and Bishnugarh is the first step towards achieving this goal.
Addressing the media, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa stressed the importance of providing basic amenities like clean water and toilets to the students, which will contribute to their overall well-being and academic performance. Apart from the development works, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa also announced that private schools will not be allowed to hike fees illegally. The decision was taken to ensure that education remains accessible and affordable to all students, regardless of their economic background.
The Punjab government is committed to providing quality education to all its students and is taking necessary steps to achieve this goal. Randhawa said that the initiative was announced to bring revolutionary changes in the education system of the state under the guidelines of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, in which he stressed on the state government's commitment to create an environment of equality and modern education system to bring students at par with the current times.
He said that as per the orders of Chief Minister S Bhagwant Singh Mann, government schools have been equipped with all the necessary infrastructure, including clean drinking water, high-speed Wi-Fi connection, separate toilets for girls and boys, desks and chairs and boundary walls. He said that this comprehensive infrastructure development programme focuses on construction of new rooms and new educational technologies in government schools, aimed at equipping them with modern education facilities.
He said that the “Punjab Shiksha Kranti” scheme has been welcomed by the entire community and is seen as a positive step towards improving education in the state. With the promise of renovation of schools and affordable education, the Punjab Government is determined to bridge the gap between government and private schools. Present on the occasion were Gurpreet Virk Block Coordinator, Sandeep Kumar, Head of Government Primary School Bishangarh, Manveer Kaur, Head of Government Primary School Bishanpura, DSP Sub Division Zirakpur, school staff and Aam Aadmi Party officials.
