Chandigarh: A major road accident took place at Jiri Mandi Chowk in Chandigarh at around 3 am on Monday, when a bus going from Katra to Delhi went out of control and overturned. A total of 46 passengers were on board this bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus driver tried to avoid a collision with a car, during which the balance was lost and the bus overturned. After the accident, there was chaos at the spot. With the help of local people and police, the injured were immediately taken out.
5 to 6 passengers have been injured in this accident, who have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Driver Riyaz Ahmed said, "A car suddenly came in front, the bus overturned in an attempt to avoid the collision." SI Ramesh Kumar, who reached the spot, said, "As soon as the information about the accident was received, the police immediately reached the spot and relief work was started. Investigation of the matter is going on."
At present, the condition of all the injured passengers is said to be stable. Police have started investigating the matter and the bus and car drivers are being interrogated.
