Workshop on Histotechnology at Rayat Bahra Department of Allied Health Sciences

Hoshiarpur- A special workshop on histological techniques was organized by the Department of Allied Health Sciences of Rayat Bahra Management College. During this, subject expert Dr. Naresh Kumar informed the students about the important procedures of histology and also gave them practical training.

During the workshop, in the session on tissue processing, the students were taught how to collect, store, dry, clean and preserve the samples. Apart from this, practical training on microtomy and sectioning was also provided. This was followed by a session on staining techniques, which included special techniques like hematoxylin and eosin. The students stained and analyzed the slides themselves. On this occasion, information related to microscopy and slide analysis was given. In this, the proper use of microscope, identification of cells and tissue structures and ways to correct common mistakes were taught.
Head of the Department Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi said that the main objective of this workshop was to provide practical knowledge to the students, so that they can understand and use the techniques of histology properly. He said that such training sessions are helpful in increasing the efficiency of the students and such activities will be continued in the future too so that the students remain updated with the latest technologies. Finally, the invited guest was thanked and honored by the Head of the Department and the staff. The students participated in this workshop with enthusiasm and gained practical knowledge related to histology.
On this occasion, the entire staff of the department including Prof. Pooja Samyal, Prof. Aditi, Prof. Saqib, Prof. Javed, Prof. Humaira were present.
