
Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparations for wheat procurement.
Hoshiarpur- In view of the procurement of wheat by the Punjab government, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain reviewed the arrangements in the mandis by holding a meeting with all the SDMs, District Food Supply Controller and officials of other procurement agencies of the district.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of Pangrain, Markfed, Warehouse, Punsup and FCI to ensure timely procurement in the allotted mandis. He said that for the convenience of the farmers, there should be no shortage of drinking water, shade, toilets and other necessary facilities in the mandis. He said that the government will ensure the procurement of every grain of the farmers' crop.
During the meeting, officials of the procurement agencies informed that all the necessary arrangements have been completed for the procurement of wheat in the mandis. This year, 3,04,153 metric tonnes of government procurement is expected in the mandis of the district. There is no shortage of gunny bags in any mandi.
As per the instructions of the government, arrangements have been made to make immediate payment for the wheat purchased and necessary arrangements have also been made for lifting and storage of wheat. Inspectors and other employees of the procurement agency will be present in every mandi to run the procurement process smoothly. All preparations have been completed to ensure smooth procurement of wheat.
