Hoshiarpur - Commissioner Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur Dr. Amandeep Kaur, PCS informed that the government had fixed a total budget of Rs 6.60 crore for property tax for the financial year 2024-25, against which the Municipal Corporation has received a total of Rs 7.68 crore till 31.03.2025, from 01.03.2025 to 31.03.2025, the Municipal Corporation has received an income of about Rs 2.52 crore from property tax. The credit for the huge revenue received from property tax during the month of March goes to the Mayor of Municipal Corporation Mr. Surinder Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Sandeep Tiwari, Superintendent Kulwinder Singh, Superintendent Swami Singh and Superintendent Gurmel Singh and various employees posted in various teams engaged in property tax collection, who worked tirelessly day and night and motivated the general public to deposit their outstanding property tax by 31.03.2025. Only then a large amount of property tax could be collected by 31.03.2025.
Thanks were also given to those general public who, understanding their responsibility, deposited their property tax on time and taking this matter seriously, showed great enthusiasm in depositing their property tax in the month of March 2025 and proved themselves to be good citizens by depositing a total of Rs 1.5 lakh. This income will not only lead to multifaceted development of the city, but it will also become easier for the Municipal Corporation to provide 100% proper basic facilities to the city residents. Giving further information, he said that various officers of Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur are constantly motivating the city residents to deposit property tax on time and this process is continuing. To provide more facilities to the public, the Municipal Corporation is constantly organizing camps in various markets and localities of the city. The public is appealed to come to these camps and take maximum benefit of them and avoid interest and penalty by depositing the tax on time.
The Municipal Corporation is constantly encouraging the general public to deposit property tax on time. Even now, for public convenience, the staff of the Municipal Corporation is appealing to each businessman/shopkeeper to deposit the property tax by personally visiting their shop. Now they will have to deposit their property tax at the counters set up in the Municipal Corporation. If a person still does not deposit his tax, his property will be sealed and the outstanding tax will be recovered.
