
ADC holds review meeting with members of Road Safety Committee to prevent road accidents

Nagar, March 27, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Geetika Singh today held a special meeting with the District Transport Department and District Road Safety Committee at the District Administrative Complex regarding road safety arrangements. During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) asked the officials to rectify the black spots (accident prone places) on the main roads of the district due to which people are facing difficulties on priority basis.

Nagar, March 27, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Geetika Singh today held a special meeting with the District Transport Department and District Road Safety Committee at the District Administrative Complex regarding road safety arrangements. During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) asked the officials to rectify the black spots (accident prone places) on the main roads of the district due to which people are facing difficulties on priority basis.
Giving information in this regard, the Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration is fully alert to prevent road accidents in the district. He said that under the newly launched City Surveillance and Traffic Management System in the city, the Municipal Corporation and GMADA have been instructed to immediately ensure traffic signs on the roads, such as zebra crossings, stop lines and clarity of speed limits, etc., in collaboration with the police.
He has issued instructions to the officers of various institutions of the district, NHAI, GMADA, B&R and Municipal Corporation, to immediately correct the black spots (accident spots) on the roads of the district.
He asked to close the unauthorized cuts made on the roads in the city and to check continuously to prevent the use of carts, carts and improper parking of vehicles on the sides of the roads. Along with this, he asked the people to be aware of the Scheme for Grant of Award to the Good Samaritan run by the government that if any person helps a person who has met with an accident, then he will be given Rs. 2000 by the government (under the Angel Scheme).
During the meeting, the ADC said that proper arrangements should be made for the safety of children in school buses as per the instructions of the government. The bus drivers and lady attendants should be made aware of the maintenance of school buses as per the Safe School Vehicle Scheme, to follow safe driving rules and the cameras, fire extinguishers and fast aid boxes etc. present in all school buses should be checked. Apart from this, he said that suitable arrangements should be made to inform children about traffic rules in the schools of the district.
SDM, Derabassi, Mr. Amit Gupta RTA Mr. Pradeep Singh Dhillon and senior officers of other departments were present on this occasion.
