Painting competition on stubble pollution held by Agriculture Department at Usmanpur and Rahon

Nawanshahr - The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Block Nawanshahr, organized painting competitions at Government Senior Secondary School, Usmanpur and Rahon to encourage people not to burn paddy stubble and crop residues. 40 students each from the respective schools participated in these competitions.

On this topic, the children created beautiful colorful pictures giving a message about the environment and the damage caused by pollution and not to burn stubble. On this occasion, prizes were given to the children who came in first, second and third place and copies and pens were distributed to the competing students. Agriculture Officer, Nawanshahr Dr. Raj Kumar motivated the students to contribute to the mission of preventing the burning of paddy stubble and other crop residues and asked them to volunteer to stop the burning of stubble in their surroundings.
He also informed about the efforts taken by the Punjab Government on this issue. On this occasion, Agricultural Development Officer Dr. Kuldeep Singh, who was specially present, said in his message that with the protection of the environment, there is a need for collective cooperation to maintain the purity of the environment. On this occasion, the principals of the schools and their staff gave their full support to carry out this program. On this occasion, Deputy Inspector of Agriculture Sarabjit Singh, ATM Jaswinder Kaur and Kuljinder Kumar were present.
