
Rally organized for awareness regarding dengue
S.A.S. Nagar, November 13, 2024: As per the directions of Civil Surgeon SAS. Nagar and under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Gharuan Dr. Arvindpal Singh, an awareness rally against dengue was taken out at Primary Health Center, Village Gharuan. The paramedical staff of the Health Department along with the students of Chandigarh University Gharuan and Saraswati Nursing College Gharuan went through different streets to create awareness about prevention of dengue and also checked mosquito larvae from house to house.
S.A.S. Nagar, November 13, 2024: As per the directions of Civil Surgeon SAS. Nagar and under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Gharuan Dr. Arvindpal Singh, an awareness rally against dengue was taken out at Primary Health Center, Village Gharuan.
The paramedical staff of the Health Department along with the students of Chandigarh University Gharuan and Saraswati Nursing College Gharuan went through different streets to create awareness about prevention of dengue and also checked mosquito larvae from house to house.
Senior Medical Officer Health Block Gharuan Dr. Arvindpal Singh said that a campaign against dengue is being continuously conducted in various urban, rural and slum areas of the block regarding dengue. House-to-house survey was also conducted by the teams of the department in villages Balongi, Badmajra, Mataur, Kumbhra, Badali, Nyan Shahar, Badala, Chorta Kalan, Madanheri, Sohana.
The teams went from house to house and inspected the hotspots of dengue mosquito larvae, which included coolers, trays behind refrigerators, trays kept under flower pots, water-filled containers for birds and pots lying in the open, etc. High fever, headache, muscle pain, pain behind the eyes, bleeding from gums and nose are the main symptoms of dengue fever.
He said that there is no need to panic about dengue but there is a need to be careful and aware of the disease and they can easily avoid this deadly disease by not allowing water to stagnate around them. He said that the aim of this campaign is to make people aware and protect them from dengue.
On this occasion, Block Extension Educator Gautam Rishi, Multipurpose Health Worker Baljinder Singh, Kuljit Singh, Kuljinder Singh were also present.
