Hoshiarpur- Punjab Government had recently invited farmers for talks, but later while returning, farmer leaders were arrested by deceit and farmers who were peacefully agitating in favour of their demands for a long time were tortured by lathicharge.
Bahujan Samaj Party Punjab President and former Rajya Sabha member Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri said that atrocities on farmers will only lead to political end of BJP and Punjab Government at the Centre. He said that to stop farmers from going to Delhi, BJP Government of Haryana and AAP Government of Punjab have tortured farmers by adopting various tactics.
He said that Bahujan Samaj Party will always stand like a rock in support of the farmers and labourers, the food providers of the country. Karimpuri said that Punjab Government has failed on every front, it wants to crush the farmers' movement on the strength of atrocities and government machinery.
Karimpuri said that in Punjab the drug mafia is snatching sons from mothers and brothers from sisters, but the government wants to divert people's attention by spoiling the peaceful movement of farmers and laborers, thereby trying to spoil the atmosphere in Punjab. He appealed to the people of Punjab to support the Bahujan Samaj Party to save Punjab.
