
The countdown to counting has begun
Una, June 3 - Complete preparations have been made for the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections and 2 assembly by-elections in Una district. District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jatin Lal said that the counting of votes will begin at 8 am on June 4 in Una district. The counting of votes will be done at the counting centers set up in Degree College Una.
Una, June 3 - Complete preparations have been made for the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections and 2 assembly by-elections in Una district. District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jatin Lal said that the counting of votes will begin at 8 am on June 4 in Una district. The counting of votes will be done at the counting centers set up in Degree College Una.
The District Election Officer said that votes will be counted on a total of 68 tables in the district. In which 60 tables have been set up for counting EVM votes and 4 tables each have been set up for counting ETPBS and postal ballots of 2 assembly by-elections.
For counting EVM votes for Lok Sabha, 6 to 14 tables have been set up assembly wise. The maximum 14 tables are for Haroli and Una assembly constituencies and the minimum 6 tables are for Chintpurni and Kutlehad assembly constituencies. 7 tables have been set up for Gagret for counting Lok Sabha votes.
Apart from this, 7 tables have been set up for counting the EVM votes of Gagret assembly by-election and 6 tables for counting the EVM votes of Kutlahar assembly by-election.
177 officers and employees have been deployed for the counting of Lok Sabha votes, while 75 counting personnel have been deployed for the assembly by-election.
Let us tell you, counting centers have been set up in Government College Una for the counting of Lok Sabha elections and two assembly by-elections. 5 counting centers have been set up in the college assembly wise for the counting of EVMs of Lok Sabha. Apart from this, 2 separate counting centers have been set up in Una College for the assembly by-elections of Gagret and Kutlahar.
Counting of postal ballots of Lok Sabha will be done at the RO level in Hamirpur. Counting of postal ballots of Gagret and Kutlahar assembly by-elections will be done at the respective polling centers set up in Una College.
Jatin Lal said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, security arrangements have been tightened in the counting centers and around them. There will be a three-tier security system at the counting centers.
