
World Health Day celebrated in government health institutions.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 7 April 2025: On the occasion of World Health Day, awareness activities were organized in various government health institutions of the district today and patients were given information about the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of various diseases. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that this day is celebrated every year on 7 April which makes us realize the importance of good health.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that this day is celebrated every year on 7 April which makes us realize the importance of good health.
This day was first celebrated on 7 April in the year 1950 but it started in the year 1948 because the World Health Organization was established in the same year. She said that this is not just a day but an opportunity when we can give priority to good health in our life and society and contribute to the creation of a healthy and prosperous society.
Dr. Jain said that this day is celebrated every year with a special slogan and this time the theme is, 'Healthy Beginning, Promising Future' which is related to the health of newborns and mothers. He said that if the health of mother and child is good then the next generation of the country will also be healthy. He said that high level checkup, treatment and maternity facilities are being provided to mother and child in the government health institutions of the district.
Free facilities include free checkup and medicines, free ultrasound, free food, free transport facility to the health institution and free facility back home. Similarly, free treatment facility is provided to the newborn for one year. He appealed to the pregnant women to take balanced and nutritious diet for the good health of themselves and their child and get all the necessary tests done from time to time.
During pregnancy, four tests like weight, blood, urine, blood etc. are necessary. Green and fresh vegetables, fruits and milk should be used in the food. He appealed to the pregnant women to get their delivery done in government health institutions only.
