24 February Hoshiarpur- Paramedical Sciences Department of Rayat Bahra Management College organised a special awareness seminar on organ donation and transplantation. The programme was organised under the leadership of Director Principal Dr. Harinder Singh Gill and Head of Department Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi.
On this occasion, Transplant Coordinator Poonam Koondel from a private hospital informed the students and the people present about the importance of organ donation. She said that many lives can be saved through organ donation. She also discussed the myths and truths related to organ donation and said that it is very important to create awareness among the people.
Poonam Koondel explained the process of organ donation in simple words and told how it is transparent and safe. She highlighted the importance of organ donation through her experience and real incidents. This lecture provided awareness and motivation to the students and the people present towards organ donation.
Head of the Department, Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi said that organ donation is a great deed, which can give a new life to needy patients. She said that such seminars play an important role in increasing awareness among people and explaining the importance of organ donation. She motivated the students to get the right information about organ donation and spread awareness in the society.
At the end of the program, the students asked their questions, which were answered in detail by Poonam Koondel. The students showed interest in the subject and resolved to understand the importance of organ donation.
