S.A.S.Nagar, 31 December 2024: District Magistrate, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Smt. Ashika Jain, exercising the powers vested under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code-2023, has issued orders to close the clubs, hotels, dhabas, shops, street vendors etc. located in the district by 1:00 am on the midnight of 31-12-2024 and 01-01-2025 so that law and order can be maintained.
Smt. Ashika Jain informed that it has been observed that in view of the arrival of the New Year, clubs, hotels, dhabas, rickshaws and shops etc. remain open till late night on the evening of 31 December 2024, due to which there is a fear of law and order being disrupted. Due to this, the above orders have been implemented to maintain law and order.
SSP, Tax and Excise Department, SDM, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar will ensure compliance of these orders. If any person violates these orders, the local police should be informed immediately. In view of the seriousness of the situation, these orders have been issued unilaterally. These orders will be effective immediately in the district from 31 December to 01 January 2025.
