Akali Dal delegation meets Harjinder Singh Dhami, appeals to continue serving as SGPC president

Hoshiarpur- A high-level delegation of the Shiromani Akali Dal today met Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and appealed to him to continue his services as the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

Informing the media, senior leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that the delegation met Advocate Dhami and tried to understand the circumstances due to which he resigned as the SGPC president.
He said that it is clear that Advocate Dhami has resigned due to mental anguish. He said that he took some things to heart due to which he resigned suddenly. He said that we have assured Advocate Dhami that the entire party is with him and the Panth needs his leadership at this crucial time.
Dr. Cheema stressed that the Akali Dal wants to resolve all the issues related to Advocate Dhami’s resignation. He said that we will continue to talk to him and work to resolve all the issues.
Dr. Cheema also said that Advocate Dhami has made a valuable contribution to the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Shiromani Committee. He said that it is because of his ability and honesty that he has got important positions in the Akali Dal and the Shiromani Committee. 
He said that sometimes organizations have to take tough decisions while performing their duties. He said that it is also necessary to do so because the Shiromani Committee was formed under an Act of Parliament and it has to take decisions regarding the appointment of Jathedars.
During this, they also congratulated Advocate Dhami on receiving the gift of a grandson at home and shared their happiness on this occasion. The delegation also included Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Hira Singh Gabria, Varinder Singh Bajwa, Gurbachan Singh Babbehali, Lali Bajwa and Kulwant Singh Manan.
