New Delhi, September 2 - A MiG-29 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (916) crashed in Rajasthan's Barmer on Monday due to a technical fault. The MiG-29 jet pilot managed to get out safely before the crash.

During a routine night training mission in the Barmer sector, an IAF MiG-29 suffered a serious technical malfunction, forcing the pilot to eject, the Air Force said in a post on X. The pilot is safe and no loss of life or property is reported.
The Air Force said that a court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident. Barmer District Collector Nishant Jain, SP Narinder Singh Meena and other district administrative officers have reached the spot.
